Ohio School Story: Mentor High School Partners with Local Library to Provide Services within the School Building for Families and Students

Picture of Mentor High School’s HUB

In the Autumn of 2018, Mentor High School added services by the Mentor Public Library within their school library. We love this example of family engagement because it involves a strategic community partnership to extend the school’s resources provided to families and students for literacy and STEM learning — all integrated directly into the school building.

Mentor High School’s renovated school library, now known as The HUB, is open from 3 to 8 p.m. every Monday through Thursday.

The HUB is available to everyone for study time, quiet tutoring, and more. It also hosts a wide variety of programs like any other branch of your community library. Furthermore, the community has a chance to use the resources and technology at The HUB’s top-of-the-line MakerSpace.
