Charting the LifeCourse: Questions Families Can Ask Themselves at Different Life Stages

Charting the LifeCourse is a framework created to help individuals and families of all abilities and all ages develop a vision for a good life, think about what they need to know and do, identify how to find or develop supports, and discover what it takes to live the lives they want to live.”

“The Experiences and Questions Booklet tool was developed by families and self-advocates FOR families and self-advocates. The questions in the booklet represent the diverse experiences of these individuals and families, and include things they thought about, asked, or wished they had thought about and/or asked in their own life experience with disability or special health care needs.”

This booklet will help families and self-advocates firm up their needs and plan next steps to meet them. Additionally, the Experiences and Questions Booklet includes smaller four-page guides specific to each stage of the LifeCourse.
