These milestones videos from Greatschools.org explain what your child is expected to know by the end of first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grades. The videos above are a small sample of what you can watch on the Greatschools website. While we know that not all kids are exactly the same, by watching these videos, we hope you get a better idea of the grade-level expectations for your children, and can have more informed conversations with your child’s teachers about how much they will learn and grow each year, and what you can do at home to reinforce their learning, connect what they are learning to their bright future, and have fun as a family extending their learning. These are all very important roles that you play as a parent/caregiver. The most effective form of family engagement in education is your daily interaction with your child at home!
