Talking to Children About Violence: Tips for Parents and Teachers

Children and teens look to adults for information and guidance on how to react when they witness acts of violence in school, in their community or at home. Parents and school personnel can help children feel safe by establishing a sense of normalcy and security and talking with them about their fears. The National Association of School Psychologists offers tips for parents and school personnel on their website and documents available in many languages.
