Measurement Tool: How should I assess my school’s family and community engagement practices?

This needs assessment tool developed by the Ohio Statewide Family Engagement Center is designed to assist school leaders and leadership teams in measuring the quality of their current family engagement practices. Each item is an example of a high impact family engagement practice. This tool will help your team identify family engagement action steps to include in your school’s improvement plan. For Ohio schools, this tool will support you in completing the One Needs Assessment items related to Family and Community Engagement.

The tool covers three areas: Communication (9 items), Learning at Home (7 items), and Community Partnerships (6 items).
